Payments, Cancellations & Refunds
💰 Payments (How pricing works)
Tutors
- Set your own hourly rate — that's exactly what you receive, every time
- Annual membership is £25/year
- Annual membership can be cancelled within 14 days of purchase for a full refund
- The membership fee keeps Tuneful running, funds marketing to bring you more students, and ensures every tutor on the platform genuinely wants to be here
Students
- A small service fee of approximately 13.5% is added on top of the tutor's rate. The exact percentage may vary slightly by region and payment method — the final amount is always shown in full before you confirm a booking
📅 Rescheduling
- Either party may request one reschedule per booking
- Reschedule requests must be made at least 3 days before the lesson
- The other party has 48 hours to accept or decline

Reschedule requests made within 24 hours of the lesson are treated as a cancellation and the standard cancellation policy applies.

Please note: Refunds typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement depending on your bank or card provider.
Student cancellations

When a tutor cancels, Tuneful covers the payment processing fee so the student receives a complete refund.
