What we do
Tuneful is a two-sided marketplace for music tuition. Learners search for tutors by instrument and location, message tutors directly, and book lessons online or in person. Tutors set their own rates, teaching formats, and availability.
Every tutor profile shows the instruments taught, lesson formats offered (online, at the tutor's location, or the tutor travelling to the student), rates, and reviews from previous students once available.
How pricing works
Tutors set their own hourly rate. Tuneful adds a service fee (covering platform operating costs and payment processing) to arrive at the price a student pays — the tutor always receives the exact rate they set. The final all-inclusive price is shown to the student before any booking is confirmed, with no hidden fees added at checkout.
Cancellation & refund policy
- Student cancels 12+ hours before the lesson: full refund of the amount paid.
- Student cancels within 12 hours of the lesson: no refund; the tutor still receives their rate in full.
- Tutor cancels (at any time): the student receives a full refund, regardless of notice given.
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method. Processing times depend on the card issuer or bank and are typically 5–10 business days.
